Riviera Rambling Walking and Hiking on the French Riviera

The middle Var covers the region where the Var river flows west to east.  The towns along the valley are Entrevaux, Touët-sur-Var, Villars sur Var and Puget Théniers. The term middle Var may sound Tolkeinesc. Mind you fast flowing river and the steep sided valley lends itself well as a backdrop to one of his books. Unfortunately because it is the fastest route into the Alps from Nice the tendency is to drive through than tally.
