The GRs or The GRs -Sentiers de Grande Randonnée are long distance footpaths or hikes that criss cross France and Europe. If you have read any of the walks written upon this site you would of seen them referred to on many occasion as a lot of the walks use GRs for part of the route. The main GRs that appear in the Alpes Maritimes are: GR5/52a - Nice to The English Channel We do not document the whole walk here just the part in this region GR4 - Grasse to the Atlantic coast Again we do not document it here in its entirety - just through the Alpes Maritimes GR51 - Menton to Marseilles This is the path that features the most as it traverses the region not far from the coast east west and is featured in many of the walks GR510 - Le Tignet (Grasse) to Breil sur Roya This a meandering route taking in The Esteron and Var valley as well as the Siagne and Roya valleys. GR52 - Menton to Valdebore This walk meets up with the GR5 and GR52A at Valdebore All the GRs are marked with the red and white flash and generally are in a better condition than the local paths (yellow flash). We have not walked these routes in their entirety and are just here for reference until we do so.
