The hills behind Annot are sandstone and there are some beautiful rock formations all with grand titles which are all worth investigation.

The Bévéra Paillon is the area behind Nice before the Vésubie valley.

The Haute Tinée is the region moving west from the Haut Var.

This area encompasses La Tour, Rousillon, Clans, St Sauveur de Tinée and up to Isola, from where the Tinée meets the Var.

The middle Var covers the region where the Var river flows west to east.

The hills around Grasse from the River Siange to the river Loup is what we refer to a the pays Grassois.

For our reference is the mountain range from the Var river at Gattières to the Loup at Gourdon

This is the area immediately behind the first range of hills running from Coursegoules to St Cézaire sur Siagne so the upper Siagne and Loup valleys.

The Vésubie river is a tributary of the Var. It is the next major tributary after the Esteron and flows from the North East.
